Job Description – Fire Extinguisher & Restaurant Fire Systems Technician

OVERVIEW:
The Fire Extinguisher Technician will drive customer satisfaction through the process of delivering quality work while performing inspection, testing, service and repair required on the following equipment: Fire Extinguishers, Exit/Emergency Lights, and Kitchen Hood Systems. The individual will ensure compliance is met with applicable life safety/fire safety requirements as mandated by standards, codes, manufacturers requirements, local/state/federal ordinances, and customer requirements. The Technician will concentrate on retaining clients by enhancing customer experience.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Technician will focus on generating revenue through the process of Work Order management in the following area: (1) deficiencies, (2) inspections, (3) proposals
- Technician will work in coordination with SM when managing their Work Order schedule to promote business efficiency and time management
- Technician will troubleshoot deficiencies in the field environment while performing inspections/service on applicable client equipment
- Technician will comply with company’s safety program
- Technician will be expected to communicate with our client, explaining the job they are performing and answering questions that may be asked
- Technician will be expected to examine the facility and make recommendations to the client that will provide them better protection/coverage in their facility
- Technician will work with SM to manage the on-board inventory for their vehicle, performing an annual inventory reconciliation in December of each year
- Technician will perform inspections on a mobile device, and must be able to operate such a device in an efficient manner
ACCOUNTABILITIES AND PERFORMANCE MEASURES:
- Open Work Order report
- New business sales to existing clients
- Customer compliance on work being performed (inspection & service)
- Employee required training and development objectives (as assigned)

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have minimum of 3 years prior field experience in Fire and Life Safety inspection/service
- Must successfully be able to lift 50 pounds to their shoulder
- Must be able to climb, stand, and walk with no restrictions
- Must possess the ability to calculate basic math which includes percentages, decimals and fractions
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Prior track record of achievement in positions with significant accountability
- Attention to detail and being able to work independently
- Positive attitude, patience, conflict resolution, team building
- Will be required to wear PPE when needed
- Ability to work off hours depending on customer needs
- Knowledge of NFPA 10
- NFPA 17A: Standard for Wet Chemical Fire Extinguishing Systems
ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
- This position will be based in a field setting (95%) and the office (5%)
- This position will be hourly paid with bonus
- All prospective employees must pass a background check / drug test

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $32.00 per hour
