<Responsibilities>
- Assist with animal restraint to ensure safe and stress-free examinations and procedures for pets and other animals.
- Support veterinary staff with medication administration, including injections and oral treatments, following proper aseptic techniques.
- Handle animals of various species, including dogs, cats, and equines, demonstrating excellent animal handling and physiology knowledge.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kennels, treatment areas, and equipment in accordance with veterinary standards.
- Prepare animals for surgery or diagnostic procedures by assisting with restraint, sample collection, or laboratory setup.
- Support front desk duties such as scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and communicating with pet owners professionally.
- Assist with laboratory tasks including sample collection, processing tests, and recording results accurately.
- Contribute to pet care routines such as feeding, bathing, grooming, and monitoring behavior to promote well-being.
- Help with animal intake and discharge procedures while ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
- Support veterinary technicians during critical care situations by providing timely assistance as needed.
- Maintain detailed documentation of treatments, medication administration, and procedural notes using veterinary terminology.
- Participate in ongoing training to stay current on best practices in animal husbandry and veterinary care.
<Qualifications>
- Previous kennel experience or animal husbandry background is highly desirable.
- Experience working in a veterinary clinic or hospital setting is preferred; veterinary technician or assistant experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of animal anatomy, physiology, restraint techniques, and aseptic procedures is essential.
- Familiarity with veterinary terminology and laboratory procedures enhances your ability to support clinical operations effectively.
- Strong animal handling skills across various species including dogs and horses; experience with equine care is advantageous.
- Ability to administer medications accurately following prescribed protocols.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting professionally with pet owners and team members at the front desk or during patient care.
- Capable of working efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
