Duties
- Conduct patrols of assigned areas using standard passenger vehicles to deter and detect criminal activity.
- Respond promptly to emergency calls, incidents, and requests for assistance, providing first aid when necessary following established protocols.
- Investigate crimes by gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses and suspects, and preparing detailed reports in accordance with procedural law and criminal investigation standards.
- Enforce traffic laws through traffic stops, issuing citations, and managing traffic control during incidents or special events.
- Execute arrest procedures in compliance with law enforcement protocols while ensuring the safety of all parties involved.
- Utilize surveillance techniques to monitor suspicious activities and ensure community safety.
- Handle evidence law procedures meticulously to preserve integrity during investigations.
- Engage in conflict management and use of force training to de-escalate situations effectively.
- Maintain physical conditioning to meet the demands of the role, including pursuits or physical confrontations if necessary.
- Manage animal handling and care when incidents involve animals or require assistance with stray or aggressive animals.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of criminal law experience, criminal procedure, search and seizure law, evidence law, and local ordinances.
- Proficiency in report writing with clear documentation of incidents, investigations, and arrests.
- Ability to operate a standard passenger car safely under various conditions; valid driving license required.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with the public, colleagues, and emergency responders.
- Leadership qualities with the ability to manage stressful situations calmly and decisively.
- Knowledge of firearms handling in law enforcement settings along with use of force training certifications.
- Familiarity with procedural law knowledge relevant to criminal investigations and arrest procedures.
- Experience in traffic laws enforcement and accident scene management.
- Basic first aid certification including CPR; knowledge of first aid protocols for emergencies.
- Surveillance skills for monitoring premises or suspicious activities discreetly.
- Animal handling skills combined with animal care knowledge for community safety efforts.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
