North Country Companies is a growing custom home builder and renovation contractor based in Stoughton, Massachusetts. We specialize in high-quality residential construction, additions, kitchens, bathrooms, and full-home renovations. Our sister company, North Country Cabinetry, is also expanding. We pride ourselves on craftsmanship, attention to detail, and delivering stress-free experiences for homeowners. We’re looking for a reliable, skilled painter to join our team and help bring our clients’ vision to life.
Position Summary
We are seeking a full-time, experienced Painter to join our production team. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented professional with strong interior and exterior painting skills, a commitment to quality, and the ability to work efficiently on residential job sites. You will play a key role in transforming homes during renovations and new builds.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces for painting (sanding, patching, priming, masking, and protecting floors/fixtures)
- Apply high-quality interior and exterior paints, stains, and finishes using brushes, rollers, and sprayers
- Perform detailed finish work, including trim, cabinets, doors, and accent walls
- Match and mix colors accurately to meet design specifications
- Maintain a clean and safe job site, properly handling and disposing of materials
- Collaborate with carpenters, cabinet installers, and other trades to ensure seamless project flow
- Inspect completed work for quality and make necessary touch-ups
- Travel to job sites in the Greater Boston / South Shore region in company vehicle
Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum 3+ years of professional residential or commercial painting experience
- Strong knowledge of paints, coatings, prep techniques, and color matching
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
- Ability to work on ladders/scaffolding as needed
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and professional appearance
- Experience with sprayers, faux finishes, or cabinetry painting is a plus
