Position Summary
The Load Planner - Specialist will be responsible for planning and execution of all daily outbound transportation needs, creating value through efficient modal and carrier decisions while eliminating undue transit cost and delays. Collaborates and partners with Carriers, Customers, and Warehouses to drive continuous processing improvement around transportation network and final mile flows. In addition to operational duties, the Specialist also supervises team members by overseeing daily task execution, providing guidance and performance feedback, and ensuring smooth operation of the transportation function. The role serves as a key point of contact for escalations, workflow management, and communication with internal and external stakeholders.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage and monitor new or pending orders and plan/optimize/tender/dispatch within consented time frame. (Both Collect & Prepay Shipments)
- Maintain and organize accurate data related to customer orders pending and in process
- Work across multiple systems to decipher route requirements and Update status or information into the systems (TMS, WMS, ERP)
- Monitor and challenge warehouse’s shipment preparation status to successfully load and ship products out on time.
- Instruct carriers and supervise actions required to meet or exceed expectations.
- Track and maintain on time pickup and delivery performance of the carriers.
- Monitor load planning progress and proactively communicate to minimize potential service failures.
- Provide load exception investigation and reporting.
- Assist Freight Audit Team or Finance Team to process freight invoices.
- Supervise day-to-day activities of team members ensuring tasks are performed accurately and within SLA.
- Provide on-the-job training, mentoring, and support to junior team members.
- Conduct regular check-ins or team meetings to monitor workload, assign priorities, and provide operational updates.
- Identify performance gaps and assist in coaching or development plans to improve team efficiency.
- Support the Manager in preparing performance reports, workflow documentation, and process standardization.
Minimum Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree Preferred (Preferably Supply Chain or Logistics)
- Extensive depth of knowledge of Transportation, Logistics, or Supply Chain Preferred
- Strong planning skills, for creating reports for business leaders, Strong analytical skills, collaborative problem-solver, and effective communications
- Proficient skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Organized, responsible, ability to work independently and as a part of a team
- Basic English writing and reading ability required.
