Responsibilities
- Assist veterinary staff with animal restraint and handling during examinations and procedures to ensure safety and comfort.
- Support veterinary technicians with medication administration, laboratory sample collection, and basic clinical tasks.
- Maintain cleanliness and aseptic techniques within treatment areas, surgical suites, and kennels to uphold hygiene standards.
- Provide excellent pet care by feeding, bathing, grooming, and monitoring animals’ health status throughout their stay.
- Manage front desk duties including client check-in/out, appointment scheduling, and answering client inquiries with professionalism.
- Handle animal husbandry tasks such as cleaning kennels, feeding schedules, and ensuring proper animal housing conditions.
- Assist with specialized procedures like animal catheterization or restraint for diagnostic tests or treatments, including equine care when applicable.
Qualifications
- Prior kennel experience or animal handling background preferred; enthusiasm for working with animals is essential.
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and basic medical procedures.
- Experience in pet care, dog handling, and animal restraint techniques highly desirable.
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures and aseptic techniques beneficial for supporting clinical tasks.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions accurately while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Previous veterinary clinic experience or veterinary assistant experience is a plus but not mandatory; training will be provided for motivated candidates eager to learn. Pay: $30.00 - $32.00 per hour
