At Hotel ZaZa, the General Maintenance Supervisor plays a critical role in preserving the quality, safety, and presentation of the guest experience. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this position supports the daily operation of the Engineering department by helping oversee maintenance activities throughout the property. The General Maintenance Supervisor assists in coordinating the work of the maintenance team, ensuring guest rooms, public spaces, back-of-house areas, and building systems are maintained to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:

Report directly to the Engineering Manager and assist in the daily oversight of the Engineering department.

Support the Engineering Manager in assigning daily work orders, prioritizing maintenance needs, and monitoring task completion.

Help supervise day-to-day activities of the maintenance team to ensure timely and quality completion of repairs and preventive maintenance.

Ensure prompt response to guest requests, corrective maintenance issues, and operational repair needs throughout the property.

Inspect guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house spaces, and hotel equipment to ensure maintenance standards are consistently met.

Assist with troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining hotel systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, appliances, and general building equipment.

Proactively identify maintenance concerns and communicate repair needs or larger projects to the Engineering Manager.

Help maintain accurate records of work orders, preventive maintenance logs, and completed repairs.

Reinforce safety procedures, company policies, and proper use of tools and equipment.

Assist with training, coaching, and supporting maintenance associates to promote productivity, accountability, and quality workmanship.

Coordinate with hotel departments to ensure maintenance issues are addressed efficiently and with minimal disruption to operations.

Help oversee vendor access and support outside contractors performing work on property as directed by the Engineering Manager.

Maintain cleanliness, organization, and security of engineering workspaces, storage areas, and equipment.
Qualifications:

Previous hotel maintenance or building maintenance experience required.

Previous supervisory or lead-level experience preferred.

Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, carpentry, painting, and general building repairs.

Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and prioritization skills.

Ability to communicate effectively and support team accountability in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull equipment and materials as required.

Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as business demands require.
