Position Summary
The Manufacturing Lead is responsible for overseeing daily production activities, coordinating team members, ensuring quality standards are met, and driving operational efficiency within a manufacturing environment. This position serves as the primary point of contact for production associates and works closely with management to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and productivity goals.
Key Responsibilities
Production Leadership:
- Lead and support a team of production associates during daily operations.
- Assign work priorities and ensure production schedules are met.
- Escalate equipment, quality, or staffing concerns to management as needed.
- Maintain accurate production records and reporting.
Safety & Compliance:
- Promote and enforce all company safety policies and procedures.
- Conduct routine safety observations and address unsafe conditions immediately.
Quality Assurance:
- Verify products meet company and customer quality standards.
- Conduct in-process inspections and oversee quality checks.
- Identify root causes of defects and implement corrective measures.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste and improve quality.
Team Development:
- Train and mentor new and existing employees.
- Provide coaching and feedback to improve performance and productivity.
- Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive work environment.
- Assist management with employee evaluations and development plans.
Continuous Improvement:
- Support Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and process improvement initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce downtime, and minimize waste.
- Participate in cross-functional problem-solving activities.
- Assist with implementation of new processes, equipment, and products.
Equipment & Materials Management:
- Monitor equipment performance and communicate maintenance needs.
- Ensure proper material flow and inventory control within the production area.
- Coordinate with maintenance, quality, and warehouse teams to support production goals.
Qualifications
Education:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Associate degree or technical certification preferred. (Work experience can replace this)
Experience:
- 3+ years of manufacturing experience.
- 1+ years of leadership, lead, or supervisory experience preferred.
- Experience in a fast-paced production environment.
Skills:
- Strong leadership and team-building abilities.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret work instructions, drawings, and production documents.
- Proficiency with manufacturing software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and noise levels.
- Ability to safely operate production equipment and material-handling devices as required.

Pay Range:
Pay: $23.00 - $27.00 per hour
