Responsibilities:
Work collaboratively to help classroom teacher with lessons, supervision of students, and other tasks.
Work one-on-one with students when they need assistance with lessons.
Assist the teacher in the supervision of students during all activities.
Maintain a positive, calm attitude and encourage students to do their best.
Effectively and efficiently handle student behaviors.
Have the willingness and aptitude to be a strong role model of appropriate social behaviors for students.
Maintain a cooperative attitude of working together with the teacher, volunteers, parents, and program specialists in planning and implementing activities.
Assume the teacher’s role in the absence of the teacher.
Perform any other task deemed necessary by the teacher and/or program coordinator
Requirements:
Associates Degree or minimum of 48 college credit hours required
Experience with the autism population.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Able to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
Must be flexible and able to tolerate many situations.
Valid Ohio Driver's License Necessary and must be able to pass a FBI/BCI background check.
