A growing automotive manufacturer in Holly, MI is seeking an experienced Tool Maker to join our team on a steady 1st shift schedule. With approximately 100 employees and a strong reputation for producing racks and automotive components, this opening has become available due to an upcoming retirement, creating an excellent opportunity to join a stable and supportive organization.
This is a hands-on role focused on stamping die repair and maintenance, supporting daily production operations while working alongside a team that values craftsmanship, problem-solving, and teamwork.
What You'll Do
- Repair, maintain, and troubleshoot stamping dies
- Diagnose tooling issues and implement effective solutions
- Operate manual machining equipment including mills, lathes, and surface grinders
- Perform precision measurements using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other measuring tools
- Disassemble, inspect, repair, and reassemble die components
- Collaborate with production teams to minimize downtime and maintain efficiency
- Maintain a safe, organized, and productive toolroom environment
What We're Looking For
- Previous tool repair experience required
- Experience in a stamping or manufacturing environment
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced production environment
Nice to Know

- Formal diploma or certification
- Die setting experience
- Advanced CAD/CAM experience
Compensation & Schedule
- Up to $30/hour, based on experience
- 1st Shift: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-3:30 PM
- Overtime available as needed (typically not mandatory)
