The job
This is two jobs in one, and we'd rather be upfront about that.
Half of it is working as a medical assistant in the urgent care. Rooming patients, running tests, assisting with procedures, the regular work of a busy clinic. That's most of your week to start.
The other half is building our occupational medicine program, and then running it. That's the DOT physicals, drug testing, and work-injury care that local employers need. Right now it's a plan on paper, and we're looking for the person who will make it real.
As the program grows, it takes up more of your week and the clinical side takes less. If it grows the way we think it will, this becomes a full-time occupational health role.

What you'd do
In the clinic
- Room patients, take vitals and histories, and document in the EMR
- Keep exam rooms stocked, clean, and ready
- Assist with procedures, give injections and vaccines, and run point-of-care testing
- Draw blood and run lab work
- Take X-rays, once we register and train you
- Work the front desk. Everyone here is cross-trained on check-in, scheduling, and phones.
Building the occupational medicine program
- Get certified as a DOT specimen collector and breath alcohol technician (we pay), then set up the testing workflow end to end
- Line up our lab and testing vendors
- Help get occupational medicine workflows set up properly in our EMR
- Get to know local employers, learn what they need, and bring in accounts
- Onboard those accounts and keep the paperwork right
Running it
- Be the person employers call
- Coordinate DOT physicals, pre-employment exams, drug testing, and return-to-work evaluations
- Get results back accurately and on time, within the privacy rules that apply
- Handle workers' compensation coordination in both Washington and Idaho
- Add services as demand grows, with training paid
What we're looking for
- Experience as a medical assistant. MA-C or MA-R are both welcome. If you have the experience but not a Washington credential yet, we can sponsor your registration.
- Comfortable building something from the ground up, solving problems and delivering solutions
- Organized to the point of stubbornness. Occupational medicine runs on paperwork that has to be right.
- Comfortable talking to people who aren't patients. You'd call an HR manager at a trucking company in the morning and room a kid with a sprained ankle in the afternoon.
We're hiring for both weekday and weekend schedules. The clinic is open 8am to 8pm, seven days a week.
Occupational medicine, DOT, or drug testing experience helps, but we'll train the right person.
Certifications we pay for
- DOT specimen collector and breath alcohol technician certification
- Washington medical assistant registration (MA-R), if you have the experience but no Washington credential, or your current one is tied to another employer
- Washington medical assistant phlebotomist credential (MA-P), so you can draw blood alongside your MA-R
- Washington limited scope X-ray technician registration, plus training on our equipment.
- Later, as we add services: spirometry and audiometry certification
