Duties
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of construction sites, including loading and unloading materials and equipment.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment safely to perform tasks such as concrete mixing, cutting, pouring, and finishing.
- Support carpentry tasks including framing, trim carpentry, formwork construction, metal stud framing, and drywall installation.
- Perform concrete-related work such as rebar installation, concrete forming, pouring, finishing, and cutting to specifications.
- Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to ensure accurate execution of construction plans and schematics.
- Carry out masonry work including stucco application, bricklaying, and restoration projects.
- Adhere strictly to construction workplace safety regulations and protocols to maintain a safe environment for all team members.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to operate various hand tools, power tools, heavy equipment, and concrete pumping systems.
- Experience reading blueprints and interpreting technical drawings or schematics accurately.
- Knowledge of construction estimating principles and ability to follow detailed construction plans.
- Proficiency in concrete mixing, pouring, finishing techniques including caulking and tile laying.
- Familiarity with heavy lifting techniques and safety procedures related to working on construction projects.
- Ability to operate heavy machinery such as forklifts or other heavy equipment safely when required.
- Excellent teamwork skills with a focus on safety protocol adherence and effective communication on-site.
