Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled X-ray Technologist to join our Radiology team. The X-ray Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures in a clinical setting. The ideal candidate will ensure the safety and comfort of patients while producing high-quality X-ray images for accurate diagnosis and treatment. This role involves working closely with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostic X-ray imaging procedures in compliance with physician orders and established protocols.
- Prepare and position patients for X-rays to ensure proper imaging, including applying appropriate radiation safety measures.
- Operate and maintain X-ray equipment and ensure that images are clear, accurate, and of diagnostic quality.
- Ensure patient safety by applying lead shielding and minimizing radiation exposure.
- Work collaboratively with physicians and radiologists to ensure the proper interpretation of diagnostic results.
- Maintain accurate patient records and input imaging data into electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Assist with patient care by providing clear instructions and ensuring comfort during imaging procedures.
- Conduct routine checks on equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any technical issues.
- Adhere to infection control and safety protocols in the radiology department.
- Stay up to date on new radiologic technology and techniques.
- Assist in training or mentoring new staff or students as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Certification as a Radiologic Technologist (ARRT certification required).
- State licensure (as required by state law).
- Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program (associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred).
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, radiographic positioning, and imaging techniques.
- Proficiency with X-ray equipment and related technology.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to provide compassionate care to patients.
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with electronic medical records systems.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift, move, and position patients as needed.
- Must be able to stand for long periods and operate heavy equipment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle stressful situations calmly.
