Full-Time Program Specialist Position – South Hills Area
PA Connecting Communities is seeking a dependable and motivated Program Specialist to help grow our residential program by supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities and/or autism in achieving greater independence and community inclusion. This exempt position will oversee community homes serving those individuals and includes some on-call responsibilities. The mission of PA Connecting Communities (PACC) is empowering individuals with special needs and/or needing accommodations with information and opportunities to improve their quality of life. PACC accomplishes this by developing social programs to build friendships, promoting the arts, participating in community programs, encouraging inclusion, and creating competitive employment opportunities. Our vision is to create social change through vocational (on-the-job) training programs, social and cultural activities, recreational and fitness opportunities, and remedial/academic classes for the disability community. The Program Specialist plays an essential role in supporting this mission by overseeing residential programming, ensuring regulatory compliance, supervising staff, and promoting meaningful community participation and skill development for the individuals served. PACC offers a wide and varied calendar of community-based activities designed to support skill acquisition and cultivate natural supports.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Overseeing daily operations of assigned community homes
- Ensuring compliance with 6100 and 6400 regulations
- Developing, implementing, and monitoring individualized programming
- Supporting individuals in skill development and community integration
- Supervising, training, and mentoring direct support staff
- Participating in team meetings and interdisciplinary collaboration
- Assisting with assessments, documentation, and regulatory requirements
- Maintaining on-call availability as assigned
Applicants must:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field
- Have a minimum of two (2) years of related experience supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities and/or within the mental health or intellectual disabilities service system
- Have experience with staff supervision and training
- Demonstrate knowledge of the interpretation and application of 6100 and 6400 regulations
- Have a valid driver’s license
- Have a reliable vehicle available for daily community use
- Be smart phone and computer literate
- Be able to pass PA Criminal Background Check, FBI Background Check, and Child Abuse Clearances
