Family Law Associate Attorney (Virginia)
Location: Fairfax County, Virginia

About the Position
We are seeking a motivated Family Law Associate Attorney to join our growing practice. This position offers substantial courtroom experience, direct client interaction, and the opportunity to build a successful long-term practice while receiving mentorship from experienced litigators.

Practice Areas
The Associate Attorney will represent clients in matters including:
- Divorce
- Child custody and visitation
- Child and spousal support
- Equitable distribution
- Protective orders
- Adoption
- Prenuptial and postnuptial agreements
- Contempt and enforcement proceedings
- Related domestic litigation
Responsibilities
- Manage an assigned caseload from intake through resolution.
- Draft pleadings, motions, memoranda, correspondence, and settlement agreements.
- Conduct legal research and prepare written advocacy.
- Appear in Juvenile & Domestic Relations District Courts and Circuit Courts throughout Northern Virginia.
- Participate in mediations, settlement conferences, depositions, and trials.
- Maintain regular communication with clients and opposing counsel.
- Accurately record billable time and case activity.
- Contribute to the firm's professional reputation through excellent client service and ethical practice.
Billable Expectations
The firm values productivity while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
A full-time associate is expected to produce approximately 1,500 billable hours.
Attorneys may elect to work on a reduced commitment as exempt employees, with reduced billable expectations and compensation adjusted. For example:
Full Commitment = 1,500 Billable hours
High Commitment = 1,200 Billable hours
Mid Commitment = 850 Billable hours
Compensation includes a competitive base salary together with performance incentives designed to reward both productivity and business development.
Additional compensation opportunities include:
- Collections Bonus based upon fees collected from the attorney's work.
- Origination Bonus for clients personally generated by the attorney.
- Opportunities for increased compensation as responsibilities and production grow.

Qualifications
Applicants should possess:
- Active license to practice law in Virginia

Prior family law experience is preferred but is not required for otherwise exceptional candidates.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
