Description:
The standard duties of a bank teller include but are not limited to:

Serves customers by completing account transactions.

Provides account services to customers by receiving deposits and loan payments, cashing checks, issuing savings withdrawals, and recording night and mail deposits.

Sells cashier’s checks, gift cards, pre-paid cards and money orders.

Answers questions in person or on telephone and refer customers to other bank services as necessary.

Records transactions by logging cashier’s checks and other special services; preparing currency transaction reports.
-
Cross sells bank products by answering inquiries, informing customers of new services and product promotions, ascertaining customers’ needs, and directing customers to a branch representative.

Completes special requests by opening and closing accounts, taking orders for checks, exchanging foreign currencies, completing safe-deposit box procedures, and providing special statements, copies, and referrals.

Reconciles cash drawer by proving cash transactions, counting and packaging currency and coins.

Reconciles other transactions.

Maintains supply of cash and currency and turns in excess cash and mutilated currency to head teller.

Complies with bank operations and security procedures by participating in all dual-control functions, auditing other tellers’ currency, and assisting in certification of proof.

Maintains customer confidence and protects bank operations by keeping information confidential.

Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Other duties as assigned.

Basic job requirements include but are not limited to:

Must be able to stand for long periods of time.

Must be able to type, use computer systems, read, and write.

May need to be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.

Use hands, fingers and have dexterity to operate a computer keyboard, calculator, 10-key, telephone and other necessary equipment.

Ability to reach with hands and arms, walk, stand, sit, kneel, and crouch.

Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Must be able to lift and carry files, documents, teller drawer, coin, etc.
