Overview:
The Red Lodge Police Department is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Police
Officer. We are a proactive agency dedicated to community policing, crime prevention, and
public safety in the beautiful community of Red Lodge, Montana.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Patrol assigned areas to prevent and detect crime
- Respond promptly to calls for service and emergencies
- Investigate crimes, accidents, and incidents
- Enforce traffic laws and conduct traffic stops
- Engage with the community through outreach and education programs
- Collaborate effectively with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies
- Prepare detailed reports and maintain accurate records
- Testify in court as required
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Possess a valid Montana driver's license or be eligible to transfer one from another state
- Ability to work well with local, state, and federal agencies
- Must successfully pass a comprehensive background check (no felony or misdemeanor convictions that disqualify)
- Pass medical examination, physical abilities test, and psychological evaluation (if conditional offer extended after oral board)
