Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Material Handler to join our team at the Spahn & Rose Lumber Company Distribution Center in Independence, IA. This role is crucial in ensuring the efficient movement of materials within our warehouse operations, contributing directly to our commitment to quality service and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and containers.
- Accurately pick orders for shipment using RF scanners.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment in the warehouse.
- Assist with inventory management and stock replenishment.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and safety standards.
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily operational goals.
- Perform heavy lifting as required.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in warehouse operations or materials handling.
- Valid forklift certification preferred.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment such as cranes or pallet jacks is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order picking.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems is advantageous.
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) regularly.
- Knowledge of shipping and receiving processes is beneficial.
