Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Equipment Service & Fleet Manager to lead the maintenance, repair, and operational management of our vehicle and equipment fleet. In this vital role, you will ensure all machinery and vehicles are maintained to the highest safety and performance standards, supporting our operational efficiency and safety compliance. Your expertise will drive proactive maintenance strategies, oversee repairs, and foster a culture of safety and excellence across our fleet operations. Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily maintenance, repair, and servicing of all vehicles and equipment, ensuring adherence to manufacturer guidelines and safety regulations.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and extend asset lifespan.
- Conduct inspections on all equipment.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and automotive electrical systems knowledge to perform mechanical repairs efficiently.
- Manage inventory of parts, tools, and maintenance supplies for Maintenance, Repair & Operations (MRO), ensuring availability for scheduled and emergency repairs.
- Enforce safety protocols during all maintenance activities, including manual handling procedures, proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and compliance with safety regulations.
- Lead a team of operators by providing training on mechanical systems repair, and safety standards.
- Maintain detailed records of all service activities, repairs performed, parts used, and inspection reports for compliance audits.
Experience
- Proven experience in vehicle maintenance or fleet management with a strong mechanical knowledge base.
- Hands-on experience with diesel mechanics, automotive service procedures, and electrical systems repair.
- Skilled in using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters, multimeters, power tools, welding equipment, and other mechanical repair tools.
- Knowledge of safety regulations related to vehicle/equipment maintenance and equipment handling.
- Prior experience managing maintenance programs for large fleets or industrial equipment is highly desirable.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to team members and stakeholders.
