Duties
- Safely operate a range of commercial vehicles such as tractor-trailers, flatbeds, refrigerated trailers, tankers, and specialized trucks across diverse routes.
- Load and unload freight with manual handling techniques or equipment like forklifts, ensuring cargo integrity and safety.
- Navigate routes using GPS navigation systems to optimize delivery times while adhering to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) standards.
- Comply with hazardous materials regulations when transporting dangerous goods or hazardous materials, ensuring proper documentation and safety procedures are followed.
- Manage logistics cargo handling efficiently by securing loads properly and performing routine vehicle inspections before and after trips.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo details, route information, and delivery records in accordance with DOT regulations.
- Communicate proactively with dispatch teams regarding route updates, delivery schedules, or any incidents during transit.
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a focus on tractor-trailer operations or similar heavy-duty vehicles.
- Demonstrated ability to handle various types of freight including freight requiring manual handling or specialized equipment like forklifts or dump trucks.
- Familiarity with different trailer types such as refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, roll-off trucks, and dump trucks.
- Strong knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) rules, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols for transporting dangerous goods.
- Experience in route driving with a track record of timely deliveries and excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles confidently and safely across diverse terrains and conditions.
- Good understanding of logistics cargo handling procedures to ensure secure loading/unloading processes.

Pay: $200.00 - $400.00 per day
