About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week contract opportunity in Sitka, Alaska. The ideal candidate will deliver high-quality, patient-centered care across a variety of inpatient settings while collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, evidence-based clinical outcomes. Flexibility to float between multiple units is essential.
Responsibilities
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care for patients across Medical Surgical and inpatient units.
Administer medications, treatments, and therapeutic interventions while monitoring patient progress and responding to changes in condition.
Collaborate with physicians and the healthcare team to coordinate patient care, discharge planning, and clinical decision-making.
Maintain accurate clinical documentation in Meditech and ensure compliance with nursing standards and hospital policies.
Float between Medical Surgical, Emergency Department, and ICU as needed to support patient care requirements.
Requirements
Active Alaska Registered Nurse (RN) License required at the time of submission.
Minimum 2 years of recent Medical Surgical nursing experience required.
Current BLS, ACLS, PALS Certifications required.
Must be willing to work both day and night shifts based on department needs.
Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, communication, and adaptability in a Critical Access Hospital environment.
