Pay Range: $50.15 - $81.62 per hour

Summary:
The Manager is responsible for assisting the Director in managing the human and capital resources within the Department of Breast Imaging in a manner that fosters and maintains an environment, which provides the highest quality patient care and services in the most cost effective manner. He/she must exhibit strong human resource management skills that promotes a productive work environment and facilitates personal and professional growth. The manager must exemplify the Rush mission, vision and values and act in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.

Required Job Qualifications:
- Previous management experience in a hospital or healthcare-related setting with an excellent work history, exceptional communication and interpersonal skills and proven problem-solving capabilities.
- Must demonstrate understanding of organizational vision, mission and values.
- Directs all activities towards meeting the exceeding the needs and expectations of all departmental and Medical Center customers.
Responsibilities:
1. Direct the day-to day operations of the department by maintaining optimal staffing and scheduling of support staff to ensure timely provision of services.
2. Facilitates effective operational responsiveness to the unique needs of breast imaging patients as required.
3. Recruits and hires qualified staff, evaluates, and counsels staff on performance relative to job skills and departmental expectations.
4. Oversees training and development of staff by providing internal and external access to continuing education opportunities. Promotes personal and professional enhancement through the department's internal training and advancement process. Conducts staff meetings on a regular basis to communicate information, review departmental performance and formulate action plans for problem solving.
5. Maintain minutes of meetings.
6. Interacts with all departmental and Medical Center customers to assess and respond to service issues.
7. Interfaces directly with medical staff to assess and respond to service issues.
8. Participates in the development of the annual operating and capital budgets.
9. Maintains departmental productivity measures.
10. Maintains a clean and safe environment for all departmental and Medical Center customers.
11. Maintain tracking of staff absenteeism and tardiness patterns. Apply disciplinary action where necessary.
12. Authorize biweekly payroll and associated reports.
13. Review and analyze patient feedback. Initiate corrective action to resolve issues.
14. Oversee Environment of Care in a manner that meets regulatory guidelines.
15. Coordinate annual mandatory staff inservices. Ensure staff compliance.
16. Performance of annual staff assessments applying objective measures and providing relevant feedback.
17. Assume an active role and provide valuable input to the management team of the Department of Diagnostic Radiology & Nuclear Medicine.
18. Responsible for establishing research codes and performing monthly accounting and fund transfer for research studies.
