Duties
- Operate the cash register efficiently, handling all retail sales transactions with precision and ensuring accurate cash drawer handling
- Provide outstanding customer service by greeting customers warmly, answering questions, and guiding them through their shopping experience
- Conduct product demos when needed to showcase features and benefits, encouraging additional sales through upselling techniques
- Maintain knowledge of store products and merchandising to assist customers effectively and promote relevant items
- Stock shelves and organize merchandise to ensure a neat, inviting shopping environment
- Handle phone inquiries professionally, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and communication skills
- Assist in inventory management tasks such as stocking and organizing products to support store operations
Experience
- Prior experience in retail sales or cashiering is preferred, especially within grocery or retail stores with high customer volume
- Demonstrated proficiency with POS (Point of Sale) systems and cash register operations
- Supervising experience is a plus, showcasing leadership in managing team tasks or training new staff
- Bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve diverse customer needs effectively
- Familiarity with retail math, basic math skills for cash handling, and retail store product knowledge are essential for success in this role
- Experience in grocery store environments or with merchandising enhances your ability to excel as a cashier
- Strong communication skills combined with excellent phone etiquette will help foster positive customer interactions
