As a Budtender / Sales Agent, you’ll be one of the faces of Dark Horse. You’ll help customers feel comfortable, understand their options, discover new products, and have an experience that keeps them coming back.

We are seeking motivated, reliable, and customer-focused individuals to join our team as Budtenders / Sales Agents.
The ideal candidate is someone who can thrive in a fast-paced retail environment, communicate confidently with customers, stay organized, and work well as part of a team.
Previous cannabis experience is a plus, but it is not required. Candidates with strong backgrounds in high-volume retail, hospitality, restaurants, bars, or other customer-facing environments are encouraged to apply.

Greet every customer in a friendly, professional, and welcoming manner.

Provide knowledgeable and personalized product recommendations.

Educate customers about cannabis products, strains, cannabinoids, effects, consumption methods, and proper storage.

Ask questions to better understand customer preferences and experience levels.

Maintain strong knowledge of current products, promotions, and new arrivals.

Assist customers with online ordering and the dispensary’s eCommerce platform.

Help create a positive, comfortable, and memorable customer experience.

Verify customer identification and legal purchasing age.

Accurately process transactions through the dispensary POS system.

Handle cash, credit/debit transactions, and change accurately.

Perform cash counting and maintain accountability for assigned registers.

Follow all New York State cannabis regulations and dispensary compliance procedures.

Maintain accurate transaction records.

Follow all company policies, SOPs, security procedures, and loss-prevention practices.

Assist with opening and closing procedures.

Participate in daily inventory counts and product reconciliation when required.

Restock displays and sales areas throughout the shift.

Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked sales and customer areas.

Assist with product labeling, organization, and merchandising as needed.

Immediately report inventory discrepancies or operational concerns to management.

Work closely with management and fellow team members to maintain a professional and supportive environment.

Participate in staff meetings, product education, and training sessions.

Stay informed about new cannabis products, brands, and industry developments.

Assist newer team members with product knowledge and operational best practices.

Support dispensary promotions, events, and customer-engagement initiatives.

Must be 21 years of age or older.

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Comfortable handling cash and maintaining register accountability.

Ability to bend, reach, walk, and lift up to approximately 50 lbs.

Must be willing to learn about cannabis products and continuously improve product knowledge.

Previous cannabis dispensary experience.

Retail, hospitality, restaurant, bar, or high-volume customer service experience.

Experience with Dutchie POS.

Experience with AIQ / Dispense eCommerce platforms.

Familiarity with New York State cannabis regulations.

Strong cannabis product knowledge.

Previous cash-handling or register experience.
