Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Painter to join our dynamic team. Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, scraping, caulking, plastering, and applying primer to ensure optimal paint adhesion and finish quality
- Apply paint, stain, varnish, or other coatings using brushes, rollers, spray guns (including airless and conventional spray equipment), and other hand or power tools
- Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and color schemes to accurately execute design specifications
- Perform structural painting tasks such as stucco application, masonry coating, concrete finishing, and restoration work on various building components
- Conduct surface testing for color matching through visual comparison and use of color theory principles to achieve desired aesthetic outcomes
- Follow safety regulations by utilizing appropriate respiratory protection, adhering to safety protocols on construction sites, and maintaining a clean work environment
- Assist with construction estimating for painting projects by assessing surface areas and material requirements
- Collaborate with team members on site setup, fixture installation, trim carpentry tasks, and general handyman duties as needed
- Maintain tools and equipment including hand tools, power tools, paint sprayers, and scaffolding or ladders for safe access to elevated surfaces
- Ensure all work complies with industry standards for quality and safety while meeting project deadlines
Qualifications
- Proven experience in residential painting with knowledge of construction site procedures and safety regulations
- Familiarity with construction estimating processes related to painting projects
- Strong understanding of color theory for accurate color matching and visual consistency
- Hands-on experience with various painting techniques such as brush painting, roller application, spray painting (including airless spray), and surface preparation methods
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications accurately
- Skilled in using hand tools (e.g., scrapers, putty knives), power tools (e.g., drills), scaffolding equipment, ladders safely (ladder use), and specialized equipment like paint sprayers
- Knowledge of construction painting surface preparation including plastering, caulking, masonry work, stucco application, and restoration techniques
- Basic math skills for measuring areas and calculating material quantities efficiently
- Experience with industrial painting applications and coating systems is a plus
- Ability to work at heights safely while adhering to safety protocol guidelines including respiratory protection measures
- Strong attention to detail with an eye for color accuracy through visual comparison techniques
- Prior construction site experience with exposure to renovation projects or maintenance work is highly desirable
