Position Overview
The 3rd Shift Machine Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining injection molding machines, ensuring high-quality production through inspection, assembly, and packaging. This role involves working with multiple pieces of moderately complex manufacturing equipment while accurately recording production and scrap data.
Key Responsibilities

Operate injection molding machines, perform inspections, assemble, and package finished goods.

Set up workstations for new jobs, including equipment calibration, scale leveling, and label verification.
*
Identify and report quality issues (e.g., flash, splay, contamination) to supervisors.
*
Use precision tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, microscopes, and vision systems to verify compliance with customer specifications.
*
Maintain accurate in-process QC records, work orders, and ERP system transactions (scrap, downtime, inventory).
*
Support cleanroom operations by following gowning procedures and material handling protocols.
*
Assist with training new team members as needed.
*
Promote a safe and organized work environment by supporting 5S practices and conducting audits.
*
Perform basic mathematical calculations to track production and interpret scrap rates.
*
Trim and inspect parts using small hand tools and visual aids.
*
Attend required training sessions and maintain regular, punctual attendance.
Qualifications
*
Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Machine Operator, preferably in plastic injection molding.
*
High school diploma or equivalent required.
*
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
*
Strong analytical and numerical skills with the ability to perform calculations accurately.
*
Familiarity with plastic molded part defects and cleanroom protocols preferred.
