The Assistant Operator - Paper Bag Machine plays a crucial role in the efficient and safe operation of paper bag manufacturing equipment. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong mechanical aptitude and a commitment to quality control. The Assistant Operator should have a solid understanding of machine operation, production processes, and packaging and labeling procedures, working collaboratively within a team to meet production targets.
- Assist in the setup and operation of paper bag machines, ensuring optimal performance.
- Monitor the production line, identifying and addressing any operational issues.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting, utilizing hand tools as needed.
- Conduct quality control checks throughout the production process, ensuring adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Assist with packaging and labeling of finished products, maintaining accurate records.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, practicing proper housekeeping procedures.
- Collaborate with the team to meet production goals and deadlines, demonstrating effective teamwork.
- Utilize forklift truck for material handling and warehousing tasks, as required.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues regarding production status and any issues.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures related to machine operation and material handling.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Working knowledge of machine operation principles.
- General knowledge of production processes and quality control procedures.
- Ability to read and understand English language instructions and safety guidelines.
- Basic mathematics skills for calculations related to production and measurements.
- Mechanical aptitude and the ability to use hand tools.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Experience with packaging and labeling procedures.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing environment, specifically within a paper bag production setting.
- Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Experience with forklift truck operation.
- Basic computer literacy for data entry and record-keeping.
