Job title: Budtender
Job description: Budtenders at High Haven are the employees with the highest level of customer interaction. They will assess the customer’s needs and wants, provide a curated list of potential products, and accurately process the sale, while providing the highest level of customer service and salesmanship. Budtenders function as an important part of a team and will occasionally assist in other departments.
Responsibilities
· Facilitate and process sales of cannabis and cannabis products
· Exceed purchaser’s expectations by delivering exceptional customer service
· Work with customers and patients to curate a purchase based on their individual needs, while providing education on the use of those products
· Ensure compliance by adhering to company policies and best practices
· Perform inventory counts
· Complete non-sales downtime duties such as cleaning, organizing, and special projects
· Assist with community engagement
· Operate with integrity and honesty
· Ensure the safety and satisfaction of all customers and staff
· Work as a team player and contribute to a positive working environment
· Assist in other departments within the facility
· All other duties as assigned by supervisor
Requirements
Education, Training, and Certifications
· High School Diploma or GED required
· Advanced education preferred
· Cannabis related certifications, courses, or trainings a plus
· Must complete all trainings provided by management
· Must complete yearly training requirements, including Responsible Vendor Training and other courses provided by High Haven.
Skills and Experience
· 1 year of retail, customer service, food and beverage and/or hospitality experience
· Demonstrate passion to serve the medical and recreational cannabis community
· Knowledge of cannabis and cannabis products
· Cannabis industry experience desired
· Strong operational skills in fast-paced and customer service environments
· Knowledge of effective inventory management
· Proficient with computers and technology, including Microsoft 365 programming and POS systems
· Able to count back change quickly and precisely
· Ability to communicate clearly and concisely
· Capable of multitasking during high traffic times
· Operates best as a part of a team
Physical Requirements
· Must be at least 21 years of age
· Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time
· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Schedule and Availability
· Regular Hours: Shifts for this position are available during the day, afternoon and evening, including weekends and some holidays.
· Additional Hours: additional hours may be requested in the event of staff shortages or special events.

Other Employment Information
· Employment at High Haven is contingent upon passing a background check and obtaining a Dispensary Agent Badge from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR). This is a mandatory requirement.
· Note: IDFPR will not issue a badge to anyone with a felony or violent crime conviction. They also will not issue a badge to an employee with outstanding tax or child support obligations.
