Position Summary
The Field Service Technician is responsible for installing, starting up, servicing, and troubleshooting industrial equipment at customer facilities. This role requires strong electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic expertise, with a particular emphasis on injection molding equipment. The position involves extensive travel and close customer interaction to ensure equipment performance meets specifications and customer requirements.
Essential Functions
· Work directly with customers to install equipment at their facilities.
· Perform machine line installations, initial start-ups, and corrective start-ups to meet customer requirements.
· Ensure finished products meet customer specifications and quality standards.
· Troubleshoot machine issues both remotely and on-site at customer facilities.
· Assemble, rebuild, and repair machinery using assembly drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
· Install and set up complete mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
· Install molds, trim tooling, and head tooling (both programmed and non-programmed).
· Perform general machine processing setup, including:
o Temperature settings
o Timing and cycle parameters
o Shot size and process setpoints
· Perform general service work, including equipment rebuilds, repairs, processing support, and operator training.
· Provide customers with operating instructions and technical guidance.
· Travel extensively to customer plant locations within the assigned region (domestic travel).
· Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or equivalent relevant work experience.
· 1–2 years of machine service or rubber/plastics processing experience preferred.
· Strong background in maintenance and repair of injection molding equipment preferred.
· Heavy electrical experience is required.
Technical Knowledge
· Solid understanding of:
o Electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
o Electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic diagrams and schematics
· PLC programming knowledge is a plus.
· Knowledge of machines, tools, and equipment design, operation, and maintenance.

· Working knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, statistics, and their practical application to equipment and processes.
Travel Requirements
· 70–80% travel, including occasional nights and weekends depending on job requirements.
· All business travel expenses are paid by the company.
· Company-provided laptop, cell phone, company vehicle, and tools.
· $50 per diem provided for meals while traveling.
Physical Requirements
· Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing 50 lbs or more.
· Ability to:
o Stand for extended periods
o Reach above head level
o Bend, kneel, and climb ladders
· Ability to work in varied environments, including:
o Confined spaces
o Industrial settings
o Outdoor conditions and varying weather

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
