As a Dental Assistant, you will be the backbone of our dental practice, ensuring smooth daily operations while providing compassionate support to patients and clinicians alike.
Duties
- Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing and organizing dental instruments and equipment in accordance with infection prevention management and aseptic techniques.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray) and operate advanced medical imaging tools such as 3D scanners to aid in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Manage patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft while ensuring compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies.
- Perform chairside assisting by managing dental instruments, handing materials to dentists, and maintaining proper dental terminology during procedures.
- Monitor vital signs of patients when necessary and assist in patient management to ensure comfort and safety throughout their visit.
- Support the dental reception team by managing patient flow, scheduling appointments via patient management software, and providing excellent patient care from check-in to check-out.
Requirements
- Proven experience working as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic environment with knowledge of general dentistry procedures.
- Proficiency in dental software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, along with experience using EMR systems for accurate medical documentation.
- Strong understanding of infection control protocols including dental sterilization procedures, aseptic technique, and healthcare infection prevention standards.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry and oral health.
- Ability to operate dental equipment including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, dental instruments, and other clinical tools efficiently and safely.
- Certification or training in dental assisting is highly preferred; additional certifications in pediatric dentistry or oral surgery are a plus.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members such as dental receptionists, hygienists, and clinicians.

Pay: $27.85 - $35.00 per hour
