Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Industrial Painter to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for applying high-quality coatings and finishes to a variety of industrial components and structures, ensuring they meet strict quality standards and safety protocols. Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces through cleaning, sanding, and surface treatment to ensure optimal paint adhesion and finish quality.
- Operate various painting equipment including spray guns, airless paint sprayers, and powder coating systems to apply coatings evenly across different materials.
- Interpret production documents such as work orders, blueprints, and specifications to accurately execute painting tasks.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and machining equipment to assist with fabrication, assembly, or surface preparation as needed.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols by using personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators and respirator masks, to protect against fumes, dust, and chemical exposure.
- Handle materials safely within warehouse or manufacturing settings using forklifts or cranes when necessary.
- Conduct visual color comparisons and inspect finished surfaces to ensure compliance with quality standards in production finishing.
Skills
- Proficiency with industrial painting techniques such as conventional spraying, airless paint spraying, powder coating, and construction painting surface preparation.
- Mechanical knowledge combined with experience in fabrication, welding, auto body repair, or auto painting is highly desirable.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and production documents accurately for precise application of coatings.
- Familiarity with the use of precision measuring instruments and hand tools for surface preparation and finishing tasks.
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to materials handling, respiratory protection, PPE use, and working around power tools or machining equipment.
- Experience with coating materials including paints, primers, sealers, and specialty finishes in a manufacturing or construction environment.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to coating thicknesses or material quantities.
- Warehouse experience or lean manufacturing principles that promote efficiency and safety on the production floor.
