Fleet Coordinator
Responsibilities:
Direct daily fleet operations, including strategic vehicle scheduling, routing, and dispatching to optimize performance.
Coordinate comprehensive maintenance and repair programs for all company vehicles and specialized technical equipment.
Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize operational downtime
Analyze vehicle utilization data to optimize resource allocation across various project sites.
Ensure total compliance with DOT regulations and industry safety standards
Establish safety protocols and facilitate rigorous training programs to promote a culture of driver safety and operational excellence.
Track and manage all fleet-related expenses: fuel, maintenance, and emergency repairs
Execute continuous process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and achieve cost reductions.
Recruit, train, and mentor drivers on company policies and performance standards
Administer detailed documentation for vehicle inspections, maintenance logs, and safety incident reporting.
Manage and monitor the GPS and integrated camera systems
Technical Knowledge and Skills:
Industry Experience: 3–5 years of progressive fleet management experience, ideally within the telecommunications sector.
DOT Compliance: Strong understanding of national regulations, safety requirements, and logistics.
Systems Technicality: Advanced proficiency in fleet management platforms, GPS/telematics portals, and enterprise cloud solutions.
Financial Acumen: Proven ability to manage budgets and track expenses effectively.
Safety Leadership: Ability to implement protocols that prioritize staff safety and asset protection.
Organizational Skills: Meticulous attention to detail regarding vehicle logs and compliance documentation.
Problem-Solving: Identifying mechanical or logistical issues and resolving them with minimal impact on production.
Daily Expectations:
Facilitate daily vehicle dispatching and execute rapid resolution protocols for all "Vehicle Down" scenarios.
Review and approve maintenance requests and repair orders
Respond to driver inquiries regarding fuel cards, EZ Pass, or vehicle performance
Verify accuracy and compliance of all daily vehicle inspection reports (DVIR).
Weekly Expectations:
Perform weekly audits of fuel consumption and maintenance expenditures against budgetary targets.
Schedule upcoming preventive maintenance (Oil changes, tires, inspections)
Review safety footage and conduct coaching sessions with drivers as needed
As Needed:
Out-of-town/overnight travel for field audits or vehicle recovery
Incident/Accident investigation and reporting
Managing emergency roadside assistance and repairs
Pay: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
