Four Seasons is one of the premier landscape design, installation, and maintenance contractors in Northwest Arkansas. We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented staff horticulturalist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for plants, a strong work ethic, and an eye for design. This role involves managing nursery stock, training crews, and planting and maintaining container gardens.
Duties
- Coordinate heel yard operations, including watering schedules and pest management strategies.
- Oversee the care of nursery stock (shrubs, woodies, trees, and hard goods)
- Receive plant material, process new inventory, and communicate with vendors
- Design, plant, and maintain seasonal container gardens using appropriate plants for sun, shade and climate.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively for various horticultural tasks
- Monitor plant health in client landscapes and address any issues related to disease or pests promptly.
- Train and mentor staff on best practices in horticulture, landscape maintenance, and equipment use.
- Supervise landscape maintenance crews to ensure timely completion of assigned tasks
Requirements
- Plant, disease, and insect identification skills
- Prior experience in gardening, landscaping or horticulture
- Able to thrive in a constantly changing work environment
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong design sense and ability to create aesthetically pleasing container installations
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in various weather conditions.
- Valid driver's license.
