Girls JV LACROSSE COACH
Annual Stipend: $2,842.36, plus additional compensation for CIF finals
Qualifications:
1. One year or more of successful experience coaching high school lacrosse and/or collegiate, professional or elite travel/club lacrosse.
2. Current first aid and CPR certifications.
Work Year: The competitive season ranges approximately March through May. The JV coach may be asked to work with the team year-round, including summers, for practice and strength training. The chosen candidate will assume coaching responsibilities as soon as clearance is confirmed from a background check, tuberculosis skin test reading and completion of the onboarding process.
Compensation: The stipend for this position is $2,842.36 annually, paid as a lump sum at the conclusion of the competitive season. Additional compensation is paid at a daily rate for the length of time the team participates in CIF finals. The daily rate for CIF compensation is calculated by dividing the regular stipend by the number of days in the regular season.
Benefits: This position does not meet the eligibility requirements to participate in the District’s health and welfare benefits.

Applicants must complete the application and should include a coaching resume, references with contact information, and at least three (3) recent letters of reference/recommendation. An introduction letter and/or coaching portfolio are welcome but not required.
Major Duties and Responsibilities of a JV Coach:
- Implement the extra-curricular code of La Cañada High School.
- Adhere to the athletic philosophy of the La Cañada Unified School District and La Cañada High School.
- Maintain a sound competence and knowledge of the rules, regulations, fundamentals, and strategies of the sport.
- Possess a working knowledge of first aid and sports medicine procedures to insure the safety and well-being of student athletes.
- Understand the psychological and emotional make-up common to student athletes in order to deal effectively in the area of coach/player relationships.
- Strictly follow the procedures and rules of La Cañada High School in regard to eligibility, transportation, facilities, equipment, uniforms, awards, banquets, practices, and games.
- Provide for the physical, emotional, and educational well-being of each student athlete.
- Organize and supervise efficient, safe practices for students.
- Report any noticeable hazards to the safety and well-being of coaches and athletes.
- Comply with the District mandated goals and objectives.
- Attend scheduled coaches meetings.
- Display a professional attitude and pride by being appropriately attired for interscholastic events.
- Assure that scores are reported to local newspaper sports desks and to the Athletic Director and Sports Coordinators immediately after each event, win or lose.
- Implement the program desired by the Varsity Head Coach in terms of streteg, practice organization, and standards of player conduct.
- Maintain utmost loyalty and support the the program.
- Support the entire athletic program.
Must Have:
- Specific knowledge of the sport.
- Experience in coaching the sport.
- Meet all requirements for coaches, including first aid, CPR and CIF training requirements
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Knowledge of CIF rules and regulations.
