We are seeking dedicated and skilled Owner/Operator 1099 Independent Contractors to join our logistics team. This role involves owning/operating a box truck to transport Furniture/Cabinets/LTL Freight/Etc. efficiently and safely. As an Independent Contractor, you will need to hire/manage your own scheduled crew and be reliable while ensuring timely deliveries and adherence to safety regulations.
Must own and operate a 26" Box Truck and team to make deliveries in the Kansas City region.
Duties
- Operate trucks for the transportation of freight.
- Load and unload cargo as required, ensuring proper handling and securing of goods.
- Navigate routes effectively while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on vehicles to ensure they are in safe operating condition.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage, fuel usage, and delivery times.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding any issues or delays encountered during transit.
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, addressing any client inquiries or concerns in a professional manner.
Experience
- Proven experience in truck driving with a valid DL & Physical DOT Card
- Good commmunications skills and proper attire.
- Experience with loading and unloading
- Background in freight transportation or delivery driving is highly desirable.
- Ability to handle physical tasks associated with loading and unloading cargo.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols related to commercial driving.
