As the Driver and Shipping Lead, you'll oversee a team of 2-5 drivers and warehouse associates. You'll be responsible for coordinating all deliveries to jobsites. This includes, but is not limited to, packaging the product to ensure safe transportation, loading trucks, printing packing slips, and checking all product to ensure it meets our quality standards. We manufacture cabinetry and custom wood pieces. As the Lead, you will bounce around from dirving trucks to managing the warehouse in order to hit ship dates. Ability to lift heavy items and strong organizational skils are required.
Responsibilities
- Own the shipping process, from planning to packaging to delivering, all the way through.
- Operate forklifts and pallet jacks to move stock efficiently within the warehouse.
- Keep track of all upcoming projects and shipments via our spreadsheets and ERP system.
- Drive trucks up to 26 feet long safely on a regular basis.
- Manage a small group of employees and plan labor according to upcoming needs.
- Communicate regularly with Production and Project Management in order to plan accordingly.
- Lift heavy products, up to 100 lbs, on a near-daily basis.
- Ensure all shipping & receiving documentation is complete and compliant with company standards.
- Maintain a safe working environment by enforcing safety procedures during all load & unload operations.
Skills
- Ability to operate, safely, a truck up to 26 feet long.
- Certification in forklift operation and pallet jacks preferred.
- Strong accountability and organization skills.
- Ability to adjust to changing schedules and stay on top of all priorities.
- Basic math skills for inventory counts, measurements, and calculations related to shipping dimensions or weights.
- Ability to lead a team effectively while maintaining high safety standards during load & unload activities.
Pay: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour
