American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist for an Operating Room position requiring at least 1 year of surgical tech experience and EPIC charting exposure.

Hospital Operating Room setting

Day shift schedule from 8:30 AM to 7:00 PM, 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts
-
Rotational weekend and holiday shift coverage required
-
Functions as first, second, or assisting surgical technician under RN supervision during intraoperative care

Provides age-specific care including obstetrical patients per department policy
-
Minimum of 1 year of surgical technologist experience required
-
Associate's Degree in Surgical Technology or Certificate of completion of a Surgical Technology program required

BLS certification from the American Heart Association required

IDPH Fingerprinting required

License required if applicable

EPIC charting experience required

Applied knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, microbiology, and pharmacology required

Basic knowledge of electricity, chemistry, computers, robotics, and lasers as applied to surgical patient care

Independently scrubs basic surgical procedures and demonstrates problem-solving ability related to the procedure being performed

Applies principles of asepsis and sterile technique to maintain a safe surgical environment

Assists with organization and coordination of supplies and equipment for department efficiency

Participates in room turnover, set-up, and equipment maintenance
-
Performs sterilization, disinfection, and documentation of loads per policy

Charges for equipment and supplies used during procedures
-
Demonstrates strong perioperative teamwork and patient care principles

Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be considered; local candidates not accepted
-
RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
