Linda Tool is seeking a detail-oriented Mechanical Inspector to ensure that our machined components are of the highest quality and result in customer satisfaction. You will be responsible for performing inspections, operating & calibrating inspection equipment, documenting results, and managing non-conformances.
Job Description:
Perform Inspections:
- Conduct First Article Inspection (FAI) per AS9102, in-process, and final inspections on machined components
- Inspect incoming material
- Review supplier certifications to ensure compliance with requirements
Manage Non-Conformances:
- Identify, document, and resolve non-conformances, including segregation of non-conforming parts
- Assist in root cause analysis and corrective actions, as required
Document Results:
- Generate inspection reports
- Maintain accurate quality records
- Document calibration activities
- Document machine maintenance activities
Operate Equipment:
- Utilize measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and optical comparators
Calibrations:
- Calibrate inspection equipment
- Re-call calibrated tools, if applicable
Qualifications & Skills:
Experience:
- 3-5 years of inspection/quality control experience at a precision machine shop or manufacturing facility
- Knowledge of inspection techniques
- Familiar with AS9100 inspection requirements
Review of Technical Documents:
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints and relevant technical documents
Tool Proficiency:
- Experience with measuring instruments
