Salesclerk- Animal Health
Reports to: Store Manager, Assistant Manager or Supervisor on duty.
Classification: Non-Exempt / Hourly, Part-Time
JOB SUMMARY:
To provide the best customer service and maximize sales through efficient execution of Company procedures and to uphold the Gold Standards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assist customers in finding products and provide them with relevant product information that may enhance their understanding.
- Verify proper product rotation and basic stocking of merchandise.
- Utilize the handheld Telxon device to ensure precise inventory management.
- Adhere to Company protocols regarding department merchandising and the establishment of store advertisements.
- Ensure a secure and clean work environment while following loss prevention and safety procedures.
- Assist customers with special order requests and sales.
- Attend store and job-related meetings along with completion of required Company web-based Outfitter training.
- Engage in effective communication with customers, management, and all store personnel.
- Follow all applicable Company, local, state and federal guidelines.
- Ensure that your workspace is clean and adequately stocked with the necessary materials to fulfill your responsibilities.
- As needed, operate cash registers and assist with customer carry outs.
- Schedule flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to operate pallet jacks and/or tow motors.
- Weightlifting capability up to and including 50 lbs.
- Consistent attendance for regularly scheduled work shifts is required.
- Other duties and responsibilities that may be required to meet the needs of the business.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Complete special projects as directed by management and any additional responsibilities may be assigned throughout the store at any given time.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS OF TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum Age requirement is 16 years old.
- Must possess great customer service and communication skills.
- An optimistic attitude coupled with a strong enthusiasm for working alongside colleagues who are eager to develop.
