We are seeking a highly skilled, experienced, and dependable Maintenance Technician to join our team and help maintain our residential properties to the highest standards.
Position Summary
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks at our federal senior housing location (One West Penn) and additional properties owned and/or managed by CCHRA. This role requires strong technical expertise, professionalism, and a customer-focused mindset when interacting with residents. The qualified applicant has a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent, proven experience in property maintenance, vocation training in the building trades, and/or direct experience and working knowledge of electric, plumbing, heating, HVAC, carpentry, and appliance repair.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform electrical, plumbing, heating, HVAC, and natural gas system diagnosis and repairs
- Complete drywall repairs, carpentry work, and general property maintenance
- Preparation and turning over of vacant units
- Preventative maintenance
- Outdoor work including snow/ice removal, groundskeeping, and landscaping
- Diagnose and troubleshoot maintenance issues efficiently
- Respond to work orders in a timely and professional manner
- Provide excellent customer service when interacting with residents
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in safe working condition
- Participate in a mandatory rotating on-call schedule (nights, weekends, and holidays)
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years proven experience in electrical, plumbing, heating, HVAC, natural gas, drywall, carpentry, and appliance repair
- Prior experience in large-scale property maintenance required
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Team-oriented with a positive attitude
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- A current, valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and proof of insurance is necessary to travel between sites.
Work Environment
This is a physically demanding, hands-on position. Technicians are on their feet most of the day and must be comfortable performing strenuous labor in residential settings. Daily activities include lifting heavy materials (up to 80 pounds), climbing ladders, working in tight spaces, and completing repairs in varying weather conditions. Applicants must be able to safely and consistently perform these essential physical functions.
Pay: From $25.00 per hour
