Penmac is seeking a Tooling Manager for Emporia, VA
Salary is based on experience, starting at $80K year
Job purpose
Oversees and supports tool builds and repairs designed for injection molding as well as the maintenance of building and equipment
Duties and responsibilities
- Internally interacts with production, quality, maintenance, and management to assist with solutions to tooling issues and new projects.
- Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of injection molding machines
- Performing PMs on all injection molding machines and equipment.
- Modifies, repairs, and rebuilds plant machinery and equipment.
- Provides detailed instructions to others on how to repair or maintain equipment.
- Externally interacts with customers and vendors to build and maintain tools.
- Travel both domestically and internationally to oversee tool builds and repairs for injection molding.
- Maintains good employee relations and adherence to Company’s procedures and policy provisions.
- Assist customers who visit the company to understand all customer requirements and to help build and maintain an ongoing strong relationship between the company and the customer.
Qualifications
Required
- Completion of formal apprenticeship program, technical school training program.
- A minimum of five years of mold making experience.
- Experience electrical systems and schematics.
- Basic PLC programming and operation (Siemens)
- Experience in programing automation equipment. (Kuka)
- Able to understand machine manuals, blueprints, and hydraulic and pneumatic schematics.
- Mechanical Aptitude and Analytical skills.
- Injection Molding experience.
Preferred
- Basic SAP knowledge
- Automotive Injection Molding Experience
- Experience with Engel-Molding Equipment
Soft skills
- Must have excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Originality and initiative are important as well as the ability to work under unusual or extreme pressures.
- Must be self-directed and have the initiative and drive for constant improvement in quality and performance.
