This is a paying summer position at a full-schedule, residential arts program! The working season for staff begins on June 23rd, 2022 , and ends on August 22nd, 2022. Staff reside on-site throughout the summer.

Buck's Rock Camp is hiring a wide variety of Camp Counselors for its upcoming season in 2022. Camp Counselors arrive in late June and reside on-site for two months through August while working with kids and teens ages 11-17. Exact job responsibilities depend on specific placements but are limited within a range to accommodate precise roles. Camp Counselors work in a vibrant community of nearly 400 adult staff and young artists.
Buck's Rock Camp is hiring Certified Lifeguards.
This position is responsible for the safe and compliant operation of pool spaces at Buck’s Rock. Lifeguards work in shifts to maintain constant supervision of pool spaces during hours of operation and begin the season trained to that effect. When lifeguards are on duty they should be attentive to their responsibilities at all times. One on-duty Lifeguard should be stationed in the Lifeguard Chair. The other on-duty Lifeguard should circulate around the pool with a Lifeguard Rescue Can or Tube in hand so that they can observe and readily assist swimmers in need. At least one lifeguard on duty needs to be confident in issuing oxygen from a cylinder. If unsure, review with the camp medical staff. All lifeguards must be able to use safety equipment around the pool. The ratio of certified lifeguards to participating campers is 1:25, and there must be two lifeguards on duty at all times when the pool is open.

At least one year in a leadership position with a youth program preferred. Lifeguard certification (American Red Cross or equivalent) is a requirement of this position.
