Job Summary: The Keiki (Children’s) Program Manager will oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of programs aimed at addressing food insecurity among children and youth. This position focuses on creating and managing initiatives that provide nutritious meals and snacks to children in need while fostering partnerships with schools, community organizations, and donors. The ideal candidate is passionate about child welfare, highly organized, and skilled in program development and management.

Duties and Responsibilities
Program Development and Management:
- Manage and grow children-focused programs, such as Aloha Backpack Buddies, ‘Ai Holo Summer and School Break Food Program, School Pantry and Super Snacker programs.
- Manage all aspects of daily operations of the keiki programs, including delivery of food to program partners, communications with site coordinators, training site staff and volunteers, coordination of other program activities at the site and maintenance of appropriate records for program administration.
- Develop program policies and procedures, including operating guidelines and documents, menus, training materials, and best practices for program partners which maintain program integrity and ensure compliance with federal and state contractual requirements.
- Develop strategies to increase program reach and effectiveness while maintaining compliance with Feeding America, USDA, federal, state, and local regulations.

Outreach and Partnerships:
- Build and maintain relationships with schools, community organizations, and other stakeholders to expand program participation.
- Identify and recruit viable program sites/partners, and volunteers.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for community partners regarding children’s programs.
- Represent Maui Food Bank at community events, meetings, and presentations to raise awareness about children’s hunger issues.
Monitoring and Reporting:
- Track program participation, outcomes, and effectiveness; use data to drive improvements.
- Prepare regular reports for leadership and funders, ensuring transparency and accountability.
- Oversee program budgets and ensure efficient use of resources.
- Conduct regular compliance visits of participating schools and community partners to ensure compliance with food safety guidelines and program agreements.
Education and Advocacy:
- Provide education to the community and partners about childhood food insecurity and the importance of nutrition.

Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, public health, education, nonprofit management, or a related field preferred, but not required.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in program management, preferably in a nonprofit or community-based setting.
- Experience working with children’s programs or food assistance programs is highly desirable.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong project management and organizational skills.

- Knowledge of childhood nutrition, food security issues, and local community resources.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data management tools.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Requirements
- Must have a valid Hawaii driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and participate in activity related to food distribution events.
- Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities including climbing stairs.
- Must be comfortable working in an office and warehouse environment.
- Flexibility to work evenings or weekends as needed for program events.
- Excellent customer service with diverse and multicultural groups.
- Willingness to relate and work with food bank partners, donors, and community at large.
- Appropriate work attire and clean appearance.
- Ability to work full-time, including occasional nights and weekends.
- Ability to work in moderate to loud noise levels in warehouse.
- Ability to acquire food handlers’ card and/or Serve Safe Certification.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in office, warehouse, and outdoor environments.
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods during site activities or distributions.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds as needed.
Pay: $25.00 per hour
