YardU is a fast-growing landscaping company with a mission: we hire and train young people, teaching them work ethic, responsibility, and the skills to lead. Founded by former NC State student-athletes, we serve Apex, Cary, Raleigh, Wake Forest, Fuquay-Varina, and Holly Springs. We do it all core lawn care through custom hardscapes: patios, walkways, retaining walls, and fire features.
The Role
We're looking for a reliable, experienced Crew Leader to run daily operations in the field. You'll lead a crew of motivated young workers, keep jobs on schedule, uphold our quality standard, and be the steady adult presence that sets the tone. You're not just running a crew — you're helping shape the next generation while getting great work done.
What You'll Do
- Lead and manage a daily crew on residential landscape and hardscape jobs
- Run jobs start to finish: mowing, edging, mulch/rock install, and hardscape builds
- Train, coach, and hold young crew members accountable
- Keep jobs on schedule, on budget, and to spec
- Operate and maintain equipment safely
- Communicate with the owner on job status, materials, and issues
What We're Looking For
- 2+ years of landscaping or hardscaping experience (crew-lead experience a big plus)
- Dependable you show up every day and set the example
- Able to lead, teach, and stay patient with young workers
- Valid NC driver's license and clean record (truck/trailer experience a plus)
- Can lift 50+ lbs and work outdoors in all seasons
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
Pay & Schedule
- $22–$28/hour depending on experience
- Performance and reliability bonuses
- Full-time, Monday–Saturday, with room to grow as we expand
