Join our team as an Art Therapist for our Child Life department!
The Art Therapist provides direct assessment and clinical interventions to patients and families in alignment with all Art Therapy competencies identified by the American Art Therapy Association and are credentialed by the ATCB (Art Therapy Credentials Board, Inc.). Art Therapists supports children, teens, and family members in the healthcare setting by providing interventions that promote ongoing medical and psychosocial goals. The Art Therapist utilizes evidence-based practice to plan, organize, and direct art therapy interventions while collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to provide trauma informed family centered care.
Acts independently providing a treatment experience and aligns the approach appropriate to the acute medical setting. Provides an independent assessment, offers consultation to providers and other mental health professionals; provides feedback on mental / behavioral health diagnosis or observations, the effects of and on hospitalization through active art-making, creative process, applied psychological theory, and human experience within a psychotherapeutic relationship.
Responsibilities:
Assess and prioritize child/family needs for art therapy interventions to address emotional, social, mental, and physical conditions that they are experiencing in the hospital setting.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree required
- ATR-P or ATR required
- Certification through the American Art Therapy Association preferred
