Overview
The City of Greenwood is hiring three seasonal groundskeepers for the 2026 Summer Season. Each of these positions will be responsible for assisting in mowing City Parks and City owned land, weed eating and edging, trash removal, ballfield preparation, trail maintenance, playground inspections, trail maintenance, and landscaping and flower bed upkeep. Each seasonal groundskeeper will work under the supervision of the Public Works Director.
Specific Job Responsibilities
- Assisting in the mowing and weed eating of the City's Parks, including Freedom Park, Joel Dean Hitt Park, Chestnut Park, and Maple Park
- Assist in the mowing of City owned land and City right-of-way (ROW).
- Helping remove trash at City Parks.
Training Provided
The City of Greenwood will provide training in the areas of:
- Lawn Mower and Weed Eater Safety
- Heat Illness Prevention
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Basic Landscaping Techniques
- Customer Service and Professionalism
- City Safety Policies and Procedures
Uniforms & Equipment
The City of Greenwood will provide:
- Safety Vests
- Safety Glasses
- Hearing Protection
- Work Gloves
Employees will be Required to Provide:
- Work Boots or Closed Toe Shoes
