Position Overview
Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week Med-Surg/Telemetry travel assignment on the North 6 unit. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in acute-care Med-Surg, Telemetry, and Neurological nursing, with the ability to care for medically complex patients requiring continuous cardiac monitoring and neurological assessment.
Required Qualifications
- Active Massachusetts RN License required at submission.
- Current BLS Certification required.
- Minimum 3 years of recent Med-Surg/Telemetry experience in an acute-care hospital setting.
- Previous travel nursing experience required.
- Strong Telemetry experience required.
- Strong Neuro/Neurological patient-care experience required.
- Acute-care hospital experience required.
- Ability to work 3x12-hour night shifts.
- Must be comfortable working every other weekend and every other holiday.
- MediTech experience preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to acute-care Med-Surg/Telemetry patients.
- Perform thorough assessments and monitor patients for changes in clinical condition.
- Continuously monitor and interpret telemetry rhythms and recognize abnormal cardiac findings.
- Perform neurological assessments and monitor patients for changes in neurological status.
- Care for patients with complex medical, cardiac, and neurological conditions.
- Administer medications, treatments, and therapies according to orders and nursing standards.
- Monitor vital signs, oxygenation, cardiac rhythms, neurological status, and other clinical parameters.
- Recognize and promptly communicate significant changes in patient condition.
- Provide post-procedure and postoperative nursing care as appropriate.
- Perform wound, skin, and other bedside nursing interventions.
- Coordinate care with physicians, RNs, nursing assistants, therapists, and other interdisciplinary team members.
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, safety, and discharge needs.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the facility's EMR.
- Follow infection-control, patient-safety, and hospital policies.
Experience:
- recent Med-Surg/Telemetry: 1 year (Required)
- Previous travel nursing: 1 year (Required)
- Meditech: 1 year (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- Active Massachusetts RN License (Required)
- Current BLS Certification (Required)
