Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and dependable OTR 26' Box Truck Operator to join our dynamic team! In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating a commercial box truck (NON-CDL) to deliver goods efficiently across designated routes. Responsibilities
- Safely operate a 26-foot box truck, adhering strictly to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and traffic laws.
- Load and unload cargo using manual handling techniques, pallet jacks, or material handling equipment, ensuring proper weight distribution and securement.
- Execute delivery routes efficiently, maintaining accurate delivery schedules and communicating proactively with dispatch.
- Use mobile devices or GPS systems to navigate routes, track deliveries, and update delivery statuses in real-time.
- Provide exceptional customer service by interacting professionally with clients during deliveries and pickups.
- Follow safe lifting practices during manual handling tasks, minimizing injury risk while managing heavy or bulky items.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in commercial driving, delivery driving, or courier roles involving box trucks or similar vehicles.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience with manual transmission is a plus.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations, traffic laws, and safe lifting practices essential for compliance and safety.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to adhere to route schedules and delivery deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and interacting with customers effectively.
- Knows how to use the ELD efficiently.
