We are seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented, and experienced Human Resources Generalist to support the daily HR operations of our psychiatric hospital. The HR Generalist serves as a trusted partner to leadership and employees by managing a broad range of human resources functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, compliance, benefits administration, leave management, performance management, and HRIS maintenance. The ideal candidate will have healthcare HR experience and thrive in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment dedicated to quality patient care.
Essential Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle recruitment for clinical and non-clinical positions.
- Coordinate onboarding, orientation, and new hire documentation.
- Maintain employee personnel files and HRIS records with accuracy and confidentiality.
- Administer employee benefits, leave of absence, FMLA, and workers' compensation.
- Provide guidance to managers and employees regarding HR policies, procedures, and employment law.
- Support employee relations by conducting investigations, resolving workplace concerns, and recommending appropriate actions.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, Joint Commission standards, and hospital policies.
- Coordinate employee recognition, engagement, and retention initiatives.
- Assist with performance management, corrective actions, and annual performance evaluations.
- Track mandatory education, licensure, certifications, and compliance training.
- Prepare HR reports, metrics, and audits as requested.
- Assist with payroll processing and timekeeping administration as needed.
- Support special HR projects and departmental initiatives.
- Assist with Nursing Staffing Scheduling.
Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of Human Resources Generalist experience.
- Knowledge of employment laws, FMLA, ADA, FLSA, and HR best practices.
- Experience with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
Preferred:
- HR experience in a hospital, behavioral health, or healthcare setting.
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification.
- Experience with employee relations investigations and regulatory compliance.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
