Key Responsibilities:
1. Perform general maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of campus buildings, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, mechanical, and structural systems.
2. Conduct routine inspections of facilities and report potential issues before they escalate.
3. Respond promptly to work orders and emergency maintenance requests, ensuring timely and quality resolutions.
4. Clean, lubricate and replace worn parts on heating and ventilation equipment.
5. Assist with preventative maintenance schedules for building systems, equipment, and vehicles.
6. Support seasonal operations including snow removal, grounds upkeep, and event setup or teardown.
7. Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and mechanical equipment.
8. Follow all safety, environmental, and OSHA guidelines, using personal protective equipment as required.
9. Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time expended.
10. Assist contractors or vendors working on-site, ensuring compliance with Academy standards and safety policies.
11. Maintain and repair commercial kitchen and laundry equipment

The Facilities Mechanic performs skilled maintenance, repair, and installation work in the upkeep of buildings, systems, and equipment across the campus. This position ensures all facilities operate efficiently, safely, and in support of the Academy’s educational and residential mission. The Facilities Mechanic works both independently and as part of a team to maintain a clean, functional, and safe environment for cadets, staff, and visitors.
